Most robotics competitions reward the team with the biggest budget. STORM was started by students at the University of Oklahoma to reward creativity, resourcefulness, and clever engineering. Open to anyone 18 or older, no school enrollment is required.
STORM exists so that anyone, regardless of funding, lab access, or prior experience can build a competitive tele-operated robot and compete with other teams.
No registration costs, no required hardware, and a new mission every year.
STORM is organized by Sooner Competitive Robotics, a student team at the University of Oklahoma. We compete too, we know what it's like to build on a student budget.
